A WALK IN CHATEAUNEUF-SUR-CHARENTE
The perfect spot to wander around, this charming town is home to a jewel of Romanesque art, the Saint-Pierre church. It dates from the 12th century, was revised in the 15th and then restored in the 19th. Also worthy of your attention are the 9th century Saint-Surin church that was built by shepherds as well as the 16th century Hôtel du Tillet. Don’t miss the Napoleonic-style Town Hall and the Hôtel du Renclos.
The Tourism Office in Châteauneuf-sur-Charente has thought of everything: a circular walk that can be downloaded or on request from Destination Cognac’s offices.
