Description

Segonzac was the first French commune to obtain the "Cittaslow" label and welcomes you to the heart of the Grande Champagne region. You will discover this hilly circuit through the Cognac vineyards at a crescendo rhythm. After visiting the church of St Pierre in Segonzac, the Protestant temple, one of the most imposing in the region and the wash house fed by a large fountain, the first laps of the wheels will take you to Juillac le Coq, a village with six crosses and calvary and its castles and dwellings. Then at Verrières you will admire the hosannière cross situated south of the church and on the way to St Fort sur le Né, you will stop at the Pierre Levée in the shade of a majestic dolmen. After Angeac Champagne and Genté with its interesting heritage (church – well – wash houses – town hall), return to Segonzac via the hamlet of Roissac which has a castle and a fountain-wash house – drinking trough linked to the hunting appointments of François 1st.
