This old Charentais farmhouse has been completely restored to create guest rooms. We have left the exposed beams and a stone wall to preserve the authenticity and character of this Charentaise house.
Situated halfway between Angoulême and Cognac, in the heart of the Cognac vineyards, you can discover the gentle Charente region. The river nearby will take you through its meanders on board barges and other boats.
You’ll discover the great Cognac houses, a rich and varied architectural heritage and traditional, gourmet cuisine. You’ll have access to cycle paths and footpaths so you can make the most of the abundant natural surroundings.
If you fancy a dip in the ocean, it’s only an hour’s drive to the nearest beaches.
In soft shades of grey and pink, the “Pétales” room will envelop you in tenderness.
The ‘Hirondelle’ room, meanwhile, will bring you warmth and serenity in natural shades of beige and green.
Each room has its own bathroom with toilet.
A relaxation area is available upstairs, between the 2 bedrooms, where you’ll find books, magazines, teas, herbal teas and a kettle.
As nature lovers, we created a small pond in our garden a few years ago, and today it is home to a wealth of biodiversity: dragonflies, frogs, birds and other insects come and put on a wonderful show all year round.
So welcome to “La Douce Charentaise”.
