Getaway to Mondouzil

Castelnoviens hardly know him, yet he was born in Châteauneuf in 1846 and lived there before occupying the nearby Logis de Mondouzil. He is virtually unknown to the people of Charente, even though he held the highest offices in the French state. His name is Ernest Monis, a politician between light and shadow, eminently romantic. This escapade will be an opportunity to discover his library, to talk about his political successes but also his failures, and about the woman who accompanied him. She died too soon, and is buried with her donkey and dog in the small wood next to the estate.
